The
following workshops are scheduled for 2009. If you would
like to sign up for a workshop, please come to the workshop
table during the guild meeting, or email
Brenda Hall.
Join the guild to be eligible for participation in our annual
workshops.

KARYN LORD
Wool & Whimsey’s “Simplicity” Workshop
Tuesday, May 19, 2009, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Workshop fee - $28 (plus Kit Fee of $35.00 payable
to instructor at class)
Join Karyn to learn some of her tricks to
completing a beautiful hand-stitched penny rug, “Simplicity”, recently
designed by Karyn for the 2009 class season! Karyn’s kits include
everything you need to complete the project - the pattern, her beautiful
hand-dyed wool fabric and all the perle cotton or embroidery floss for
the decorative stitching. Karyn’s sample will be available at the
January guild meeting.

1.“Yes There is Life After Stippling”
Wednesday, July 22, 2009, 9:30 am – 4:30 pm

In this workshop, Patsy will cover a wide
range of quilting designs and will explore a number of different
fun techniques that you can marry with free motion work. The
designs are useful for different styles of quilts (traditional,
contemporary, and art quilts) so there is something for everyone
in this class. |

2.Pansy Wall Hanging
Thursday, July 23, 2009, 9:30 am – 4:30 pm
Supply List
Workshop fee - $75 (plus $5 pattern fee payable to
instructor). If you enjoy free motion work and are looking for ways to
add new depth and texture to your quilts, then this class is for you!
We will learn the skills of fusible appliqué, trapunto, basic thread
painting, and free motion machine quilting, as we create a pansy wall
hanging. this is one technique that is surprisingly easy to do but adds
tremendous interest to your quilts.

Niemeyer
Learn to implement fast and easy cutting
techniques, stacking techniques, paper-piecing techniques, and curved
piecing from a nationally known pattern designer and instructor.
Two different one-day classes will be offered. Preparation
(pre-cutting) before class will be required to ensure class time is
available for Judy to demo the techniques and for students to complete
some of the units within their project.
