2012 Workshops

Planning is well underway for the workshops for 2012.    Here is a line up of what you can expect!   Further information will be posted on the web site shortly (including photos of the projects and supply lists).  So start your planning early.

Registration for Workshop #1 will open at the September and October meeting.  Registration is opening early as we would prefer not to be handling registrations at the November holiday party and there is no guild meeting in December.   Please see Lyn McCreary who will be taking registrations and collecting the class fee of $50.00.  Please remember that you are not registered until you have paid your fee so bring along your checkbooks or cash to secure a spot in the class.   E-mails to Lyn do not secure your spot.   Payment must be made in full.

Registrations for the remaining workshops will open in January 2012 once the budgets have been finalized and approved in November.

E-mail Lyn McCreary for more information.

Wearable art is definitely in the forefront of a quilter’s wardrobe.   The base for this jacket is a women’s T-shirt, not a sweatshirt.  Your jacket will be completed, or nearly, in the class.  You will learn how to custom fit your jacket to your body shape.  The pattern used will be Sherbet and Cream, which will be available in class for $10.00.

Workshop #4

LESLIE MUIR-VOLPE

Basics in Miniature Quilt Making

Here's your chance to try making one of those miniature quilts you've seen and admired, but thought you couldn't do.  We'll cover all the techniques of traditional quilt making, but adapt them to working small using "Twenty Tips for Tiny Quilts."  Emphasis is placed on cutting, sewing, and pressing carefully for precision piecing.  Participants will make one or two tiny quilts utilizing the skills learned.

Workshop #5

PAT FERGUSON

"Zen Quilting"

“Zentangle® is an easy to learn method of creating beautiful images from repetitive patterns” (quote from www.zentangle.com  website). Isn’t that what we do when we are machine quilting too?

Zentangle® opened up a whole new outlook on machine quilting for Pat, who then developed this class to make machine quilting much easier and help free up those with “quilters block”.

Class is open to anyone with basic machine quilting skills, a craze for Zentangle® and the desire to add more patterns to your machine quilting repertoire.

The focus and relaxation created by Zentangle® really does cross over into machine quilting when using the same basic techniques to create these quilting designs.

9:00 am - 4:30 pm
